Engineer – Electrical II
Location: Hillsboro, OR (100% onsite)
Contract Duration: Up to 18 months
Contract Type: W2 through Staffing Supplier
Pay Rate: $60/hr
The candidate is expected to work with a team on the development, integration, assembly and testing of electronic control instruments used in scientific research. Other responsibilities include designing robust testing procedure and documenting the process. Engineering duties include gathering technical design requirements and the test and verification of the target spec which incorporates electrical and mechanical design guidelines.
The candidate must possess a good understanding of electrical analog and digital circuits, electronic components, electrical test and measurements, and basic computer programming. The candidate must be familiar with the use of electrical test instruments such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzer to test and measure the target system performance and validate its proper functioning and check EMI and Signal integrity performance. Candidate understanding of PCB design, assembly procedures is helpful for performing his duties. Prior experience with FPGA and digital design is desirable for understanding the target system design. Candidate must be familiar with Python programming and basic scripting on Linux. C/C++ programming skill is a plus. Candidate must possess a basic understanding of network configuration and socket programming. Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel) to ensure proper communication and documentation of the project.
Essential to Have:
*Familiar with Use of Electrical Test Instruments: Oscilloscope, Multimeter and Spectrum Analyzer.
*Understanding of electrical circuits of electronic components (DAC, ADC, FPGA).
*Understanding of Electrical Measurement Techniques, Calibration and Measurement Automation.
*Python Programming.
Highly Desireable Skills:
*C/C++ Programming.
*FPGA and Digital Design.
*Network configuration and programming.
*Test automation and Script Programming.
Education: Preferred: Bachelor’s degree – Electronics Engineering or min AS degree with 3-5 years exp.
