Job Title: Blaster Lead

Location: New Britain
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $19–$21/hour (based on experience)


Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Blaster Lead to oversee daily blasting operations in a manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for leading a small team, ensuring production goals are met, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate blasting operations for metal components and parts

  • Set up, operate, and maintain blasting equipment (e.g., sandblasting, shot blasting)

  • Train and mentor team members on proper techniques and safety procedures

  • Monitor workflow to ensure productivity and deadlines are met

  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are achieved

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

  • Enforce all safety protocols and workplace policies

  • Troubleshoot equipment or process issues as they arise

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in blasting, surface preparation, or a similar manufacturing environment

  • Leadership or team lead experience preferred

  • Ability to operate and maintain blasting equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and quality control

  • Ability to read work instructions, blueprints, or job orders (preferred)

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Work Environment

  • Industrial/manufacturing setting

  • Exposure to dust, noise, and machinery (PPE required)

  • Fast-paced production environment
