Insectary Technician 
Kelly Science is currently seeking a Insectary Technician for a long-term engagement at one of our Global agriculture clients in Indianapolis, IN. This role is a full-time, fully benefited position. You will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and paid time off, including holiday, vacation, and sick/personal time.

Schedule – 7am to 3:30pm  Monday through Friday
Pay $21.00 an hour

Insectary Technician, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and operation of our insectary facilities. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for entomology. You will work closely with researchers and scientists to ensure the success of ongoing experiments and projects while maintaining a high standard of facility cleanliness and organization.
The team is looking for someone comfortable working with insects, plants, familiar with pipets, media preparation, wearing PPE and following strict protocols, as well as cleaning environmental chambers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in production and maintenance of various insect & nematode cultures 

  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to assist in insect management research 

  • Assist in Insectary tasks as needed including Insectary media production and lab cleaning.

  • Interfacing with researchers, and having strong customer focus, organization and time management skills

  • Follow standard operating procedures, reporting & assist troubleshooting colony issues, colony data collection 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Adhere to internal safety policies & compliance regulations

Requirements

  • Possess keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Are comfortable working independently as well as in team settings

  • Can adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Are able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods

  • Have laboratory experience in biology or entomology (preferred)

  • High School diploma required
