Job Title: Quality Control Inspector I – Bench Inspector
Location: Portland, CT
Employment Type: Full-Time
Hours per Week: 40–45
Scherdule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $20–$26 per hour (based on experience)
Job Purpose
The Quality Control Inspector I is responsible for maintaining quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products. This role ensures compliance with all specifications and documents inspection results accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect in-process and finished products by verifying specifications and conducting visual and dimensional measurements
- Review purchase orders, operation sheets, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure full compliance
- Perform complex dimensional layout inspections based on operation sheets and engineering drawings
- Complete Inspection Method Sheets and verify special process certifications against part requirements
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and first-piece inspections
- Ensure all materials and components meet aerospace quality standards
- Analyze manufacturing methods and procedures to ensure quality and consistency
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2–10 years of inspection experience in aerospace or a similar industry
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience with dimensional layout inspection (preferred)
- Familiarity with Inspection Xpert and/or Net-Inspect (a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
