Kelly Services Job Description: Financial Analyst IV

Schedule: Hybrid will not become fully remote
Location: Columbus, IN
Pay: $45/hr

Overview:
As a Kelly Financial Analyst, you will provide financial oversight, planning, and governance to ensure engineering talent development programs are appropriately funded and aligned with corporate finance process guidelines. You will play a critical role in managing program budgets, enabling strategic capability investments, and supporting cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Budget Alignment

  • Partner with manager and finance support team to define annual budget requirements for engineering development programs.

  • Support comprehensive budget planning, including regional cohort funding, travel, and consulting investments.

  • Ensure program spending aligns with enterprise and program priorities.

Cost Model & Investment Governance

  • Maintain and validate program cost structures such as course fees, travel, instructor costs, and regional delivery.

  • Advise on cost allocation and cross-charging to relevant functions and business units.

  • Support financial governance for all program expenses, including consulting engagements.

Demand & Funding Alignment

  • Identify funding gaps and risks that may affect program or cohort feasibility.

  • Collaborate with project managers to support cohort go/no-go decision-making based on financial and participation thresholds.

Investment Tracking & Reporting

  • Track program spend versus budget, by region and cohort.

  • Provide regular reports on participation, cost per participant, and total program investment.

  • Ensure transparency of financial information for leadership review.

Value & ROI Support

  • Partner with technical talent and HR teams to develop and evolve outcome measurement approaches.

  • Prepare financial narratives on program value, including cost avoidance benefits.

  • Provide input for leadership discussions related to program continuation and scaling.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Maintain program budget tracker (weekly).

  • Monitor actual vs. forecasted spend; flag variances (monthly).

  • Validate participant funding and cost center alignment (per cohort and ongoing).

  • Support cross-charging processes and resolve billing issues (daily).

  • Partner with project manager on aligning demand and funding (weekly).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in finance, program financial management, or business/business support roles.

  • Background in budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking within a corporate environment.

  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency—especially Excel (financial tracking, reporting) and PowerPoint (presentations for leadership).

  • Familiarity with financial systems, cost centers, and cross-charging processes.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with program leaders, project managers, and finance stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills, with extraordinary attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to translate financial data into clear insights for non-finance audiences.

  • Comfortable in a dynamic, global, and cross-regional work environment.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
