Kelly Services’ has partnered with a manufacturing client in Markham, ON to recruit for a DIRECT Hire PERM role

 

Role: Human Resource Generalist

Monday to Friday onsite Markham, ON

Must have manufacturing and HR Generalist experience!

 

Responsibilities:

HR Operations, Compliance & Payroll Support

  • Serve as a trusted resource to managers on the interpretation and application of policies, employment legislation, and HR practices.

  • Support core HR programs including performance reviews, merit cycles, recognition initiatives, and employee communications — partnering with U.S. counterparts where applicable.

  • Collaborate with Payroll and Benefits teams to support UKG processes, payroll inputs, and benefits administration.

  • Maintain compliance with Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA and related regulations).

Employee Relations & Workplace Support

  • Support in responding to general employee inquiries.

  • Provide supervisors and managers practical guidance on performance management, attendance, conduct, and workplace concerns.

  • Support workplace investigations and assist with appropriate corrective action.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Support recruitment efforts including resume reviews, candidate communication & coordination, and hiring documentation.

  • Facilitate onboarding processes including offer documentation, background checks, and new hire integration.

  • Track and report on recruitment metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

 

HR Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and analyze HR metrics to identify trends in turnover, absenteeism, performance, and engagement.

  • Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows within UKG and HR administrative processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience as HR Generalist within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation with demonstrated employee relations experience.

  • Experience supporting payroll processes and working within an HRIS (UKG experience is an asset).

  • CHRP designation is an asset.

  • Must be comfortable working 100% onsite.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel competency required for reporting and analysis).
