Job Summary
The Senior Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, electrical testing, troubleshooting, and quality control of electromechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. This role ensures assemblies meet specified quality standards, maintains quality documentation, and supports inventory and material handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Build products by accurately interpreting and working from engineering schematics and drawings.
- Follow detailed process instructions precisely.
- Assembly (especially electromechanical) including wire cutting, unpacking, and repacking.
- Perform electrical tests with tools (HiPot tester, Multimeter), and measure with tools (micrometers, calipers, gauge pins).
- Verify shipping orders, pack finished product, and inspect inbound parts for quality.
- Support ISO Certification, documentation, and audits. Participate in yearly ISO training.
- Receive, document, and control incoming materials and manage non-conforming materials.
- Assist in inventory management and other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Technical school a plus.
- Experience: 1+ years in assembly, quality control, or inventory management; electromechanical assembly highly desirable.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand complex schematics, work instructions, and bills of materials.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
- Attention to detail; strong critical thinking.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft products and warehouse management systems required.
- Effective communication with coworkers; strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work overtime as required.
- Ability to read and understand complex schematics, work instructions, and bills of materials.
- Physical Demands & Environment:
- Able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Move about the facility constantly; able to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or balance occasionally.
- Some exposure to electrical hazards and equipment.
- Able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Information
- Work Boots: Steel-toed boots required.
- No operating of PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) or forklifts for this assignment.
- Travel: No offsite travel required.
