Quality Lab Technician
Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Lab Technician for a contract position at a cutting-edge client in Emeryville, CA. If you’re passionate about bringing the latest scientific discoveries to life and are ready to take the next step in your career, trust The Experts at Hiring Experts.

Schedule: Mon- Fri Onsite
Overview

As a key part of the Quality team, you will be involved in sample receipt, logging, review, and storage. We’re looking for someone flexible, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic with a “can-do” attitude!
Responsibilities
- Routine Product Evaluation and Release (20%)
- Set up daily sensory sessions on commercial products and log results
- Test samples for texture and viscosity
- Review routine documentation for acceptability
- Escalate any out-of-specification results
- Communicate product releases to cross-functional teams
- Set up daily sensory sessions on commercial products and log results
- Document Organization and Storage (25%)
- Maintain and update quality documentation
- Assist in updating procedures and specifications
- Ensure completed documentation is checked into the system
- Maintain and update quality documentation
- Sample Receipt, Logging, and Storage (25%)
- Verify sample arrivals and notify if delayed
- Organize sample retains and manage offsite storage
- Maintain sample storage organization
- Verify sample arrivals and notify if delayed
- Other Sample Evaluation (20%)
- Track complaint sample receipt
- Perform sensory testing on retain samples
- Evaluate samples from shelf-life studies
- Prepare samples for tastings
- Track complaint sample receipt
- General Duties (10%)
- Attend meetings and presentations
- Participate in company-wide activities
- Handle administrative tasks (email, calendaring, expense reports)
- Attend meetings and presentations
Qualifications
- Education: BA/BS in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field
- Experience:
- Related laboratory experience
- Food manufacturing and/or QA/QC experience a plus
- Sensory/organoleptic experience a plus
