Material Handler 

Location: Branchburg, NJ 08876
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay Rate: $19 – $22/hour
 


Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support warehouse operations on the 2nd shift. This role is responsible for handling the physical and administrative processes related to shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing materials. The ideal candidate will ensure inventory accuracy, maintain compliance with safety standards, and contribute to efficient day-to-day operations.


Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inspection

  • Inspect incoming shipments and verify quantities against purchase orders or invoices

  • Prioritize and distribute materials to appropriate departments

Storage & Inventory Management

  • Operate material handling equipment to store, move, and consolidate materials

  • Perform cycle counts and inspections to ensure accuracy of quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates

  • Replenish stock and assist with material disposal when required

Picking, Packing & Returns

  • Pick, consolidate, and pack products based on customer orders

  • Process returned goods according to established procedures

Shipping & Transportation

  • Load and unload trailers in compliance with DOT regulations

  • Complete and verify shipping documentation for accuracy

  • Transport materials within the facility and assist with local deliveries if needed

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all safety and regulatory guidelines (OSHA, DOT, GMP)

  • Handle materials, including hazardous goods, in accordance with company policies

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Administrative Duties

  • Use SAP for inventory tracking, labeling, and issuing goods

  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required

  • Less than 1 year of experience in warehouse, distribution, or material handling environments required

  • Experience handling hazardous materials is a plus

  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of receiving, inventory, and warehouse processes

  • Ability to safely handle and store materials

  • Familiarity with OSHA, IATA, DOT, GMP, and SAP is a plus

  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift)

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
