Put your accounting and financial analysis skills to work in a meaningful public service role with the Arizona Department of Child Safety (AZDCS). We’re hiring an Accountant 2 to support financial operations and compliance in Phoenix, AZ.

?? What’s a typical day as an Accountant 2? You will:
? Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
? Monitor cash balances, receivables, and fund transfers.
? Perform reconciliations, including wire and account balancing.
? Manage collections and track outstanding payments.
? Maintain general ledger accuracy and financial records.
? Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal regulations, and state policies.
? Analyze financial systems and recommend process improvements.
? Generate daily, monthly, and ad-hoc financial reports.

? This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
Experience in accounting, financial reporting, or government finance.
Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, ERP tools).
Strong reconciliation and audit/compliance experience.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Clear communication and documentation abilities.

Office-based role within a government agency.
High level of accuracy required for financial reporting and compliance.
Collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders.
Handling sensitive financial and program-related data.
