Kelly Science is seeking a 2nd Shift Food Manufacturing QA Technician for a growing company located in Lynn, MA.
Pay: $18-21/hour depending on experience
Shift: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm
(Saturdays occasionally required during busy months- considered OT)
Employment Type: Full Time; Temp- to – Hire
Job Summary:
The Food Manufacturing QA Technician is responsible for monitoring food safety and quality systems (HACCP, SQF, GMPs) and company policies in a busy manufacturing facility. Key tasks include performing quality checks and tests on products, documenting findings, ensuring compliance, and supporting audits.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine tests and inspections on products, equipment, and surfaces (e.g., allergen and ATP swabs, weight, color)
- Monitor production lines and verify sanitation procedures
- Ensure regulatory compliance, assist with audits, and maintain records
- Investigate and document quality or food safety issues; manage non-conforming products
- Identify and address safety risks
- Support SQF and GMP program requirements on the floor
- Maintain sample retention and ensure products meet standards
- Report equipment or document failures
- Check preparation, cooking, packaging, and labeling steps
- Calibrate test equipment (thermometers, ATP units, etc.)
- Assist with food safety training
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in a food science related field can replace years of experience.
- 1-3 years of experience within a food manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of GMP, USDA and FDA requirements along with food safety guidelines.
