Pathologist – Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Full-Time)
Location: Milwaukee, WI

Join the mission to serve America’s Veterans with the Kelly Government Solutions team as we support the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center! As a Board-Certified Pathologist in a modern federal facility, you’ll play a critical role ensuring excellent and timely pathology services for our nation’s heroes.


Position Highlights and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surgical pathology review and provide expert diagnostic reports.

  • Participate in the full scope of laboratory medicine, collaborating closely with clinical teams.

  • Ensure all case turnaround times and workflows meet high standards set by the VA and relevant accrediting agencies (CAP, TJC, AABB, FDA).

  • Maintain meticulous clinical documentation in CPRS/VISTA, the VA’s EMR system.

  • Engage in and contribute to ongoing quality assurance, performance improvement initiatives, and periodic training/competency checks.

  • Uphold the highest standards of patient care, privacy, and medical ethics, honoring the Veterans we serve.

A Typical Day Might Include:

  • Reviewing and signing out surgical pathology/biopsy cases.

  • Consulting with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams for integrated patient care.

  • Dictating reports directly into electronic medical records.

  • Participating in weekly pathology conferences or peer reviews.

  • Staying current with best practices via required training, policy, and procedure updates.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) and completion of ACGME-accredited Pathology residency.

  • Active, unrestricted US medical license.

  • Board certification in Anatomic Pathology (American Board of Pathology or equivalent).

  • At least five years’ experience in surgical pathology, with recent active clinical work (within the last three years).

  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) documentation; CPRS/VISTA experience a bonus.

  • Fluent in English; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Hours & Details:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (no weekends, holidays, or overtime required)

  • Federal holidays off (11 recognized)

  • On-site at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI
