| Machine Operator Location: Franklin, OH Pay: $19.09 an hour Hours: 7:00am-7:00pm or 7:00pm-7:00am PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION |
| A successful corrugator operator will be responsible for set up, operate, monitor, and maintain the machinery that produces corrugated cardboard sheets used for packaging. They ensure the continuous, efficient, and safe production of high-quality material. |
| ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
| Knows and fully comprehends all critical aspects of the corrugator including its operation, necessary preventative maintenance, and set up requirements. |
| Maintains all production and scrap goals consistently. |
| Analyzes all mechanical or operationally problems on the corrugator then plans for and takes proper corrective action. |
| Make all necessary corrections and running adjustments to ensure top quality, low scrap, and consistent productivity. (IE-cleans and adjusts the corrugator rolls, adjusts the air pressure, adjusts rider rolls, clean belt and hotplates and adjust the short press. |
| Test equipment to check proper operation and all safety devices are functional. |
| Examines tests and measures finished product form the corrugator making sure it meets or exceeds customer Quality/Functional expectations. |
| Make preventative maintenance checks, and inspections of assigned equipment within the corrugating area, reporting findings shift manager and maintenance supervisor and takes the appropriate actions. |
| Examines defects and analyzes spoilage/scrap causes taking corrective action as necessary and requesting help as needed. |
| Coaches’ helper and stackers on all operating procedures and critical customer requirements |
| Notifies maintenance supervisor of all corrective actions taken, of all difficult unresolved problems and supplies needed. |
| Coaches/Instructs any corrugator operator trainees assigned. |
| Other duties as assigned. |
| QUALIFICATIONS |
| Must have a High School Diploma or GED. |
| Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude. |
| Should possess basic mechanical skills. |
| Capable of working in hot environment and in areas where inks and lubricants are used. |
| Must be capable of standing for long periods of time. |
| Must be able to frequently lift and carry 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. |
| Must have the ability to lift die with the assistance of another person (50-70 lbs.) |
| Must be knowledgeable of quality standards. |
| Must be able to train. |
| Must have basic troubleshooting abilities. |
| Must have good communication skills. |
| Must have basic computer and math skills. |
| Must be able to read basic English. |
| Due to fluctuating production levels employees may be asked to work beyond normally scheduled work hours or less than normally scheduled work hours. Employees may be required to work weekends or partial weekends on a scheduled basis. You may also be called in during non-scheduled hours. |
| Regularly required to stand, sit, move about facility, climb stairs, bend, twist, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools and controls, grasp, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, lift above shoulder level. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus |
