Production Equipment Maintenance Technician I – 3rd Shift
Syracuse, NY
Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (Shift Differential)
Pay Range: $24.73 – $32.89/hour with the differential DOE
Position Overview:
The Production Maintenance Technician I is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This role ensures production efficiency by performing preventative maintenance, assisting with technical problem-solving, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Assist senior technicians with diagnostics, emergency repairs, and project work
- Maintain floors, walls, and general facility infrastructure within production areas
- Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately and on time
- Support development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and job plans
- Assist with equipment and process improvements based on production needs
- Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, safety regulations, and company policies
- Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Respond to equipment alarms, production issues, and maintenance requests
- Promote a safe, clean, and efficient work environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training preferred
- 2+ years of maintenance or manufacturing experience
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and production equipment
- Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, and regulated manufacturing environments preferred
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, maintenance systems)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to flexible schedules and changing production needs
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout shift (75–100%)
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Frequent climbing, stooping, and kneeling
- Ability to read, write, and operate equipment/computers consistently
- Adequate hearing and vision for safe communication and task execution
