Materials Coordinator
Project (May-September) 5/10 schedule
Job Summary:
Join our team as a Materials Coordinator and play a critical role as the focal point for acquiring, scheduling, and distributing materials, supplies, and service requisitions—primarily focused on maintenance operations. You’ll leverage your advanced technical skills and expertise in processes, procedures, and systems to ensure timely material availability and seamless maintenance execution. At smaller sites, you may embrace a broader scope and have the chance to lead and coordinate the work of others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter, track, and update requests for materials, tools, and equipment via the Procurement System or Pro-card, confirming delivery dates and monitoring order status.
- Serve as the main point of communication for order status, addressing any issues such as delayed deliveries and ensuring stakeholders are informed.
- Coordinate and communicate specification updates between suppliers and internal requestors, initiating system updates as appropriate.
- Oversee surplus material disposition and coordinate repair and return of materials, tools, and equipment obtained through value-added work orders.
- Monitor and verify the receipt of materials, tools, and equipment, and arrange them for easy identification and job-based pickup.
- Prepare requisitions for off-site or non-maintenance resources as needed.
- Gather and input data into maintenance KPIs, using metrics to fuel process improvements in material coordination.
- Provide vendor performance feedback and work closely with procurement, coding, planning, scheduling, and work coordination to support seamless execution of the Global Management Work Process (GMWP).
- May provide subject matter guidance and coordinate the efforts of others as a working team lead.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (short-cycle tertiary degree) in a related field preferred; equivalent experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or related work accepted.
- Advanced knowledge of material coordination processes, technical systems, and organizational process management.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and provide guidance to team members.
