Industrial Parts/ Service Team Member – Industrial Distribution
Base Pay: $20.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary
The Customer Service Representative supports both customer service and warehouse activities. This role is responsible for assisting customers, processing orders, sourcing parts, and performing shipping/receiving duties within a small branch (2–3 employees). You will resolve customer needs, process transactions, and ensure smooth branch operations in an industrial distribution environment.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries, generate price quotes, process orders, expedite parts, and handle returns via phone, email, fax, and sales team communication.

  • Source parts from internal inventory, core suppliers, and alternate vendors, aiming to meet or exceed customer required dates.

  • Assist with sales growth by reviewing open orders/quotes and converting quotes to orders.

  • Identify and recommend product and process improvements to enhance the customer experience.

  • Communicate order disruptions, customer feedback, approval requests, and corrective actions to branch management.

  • Support margin and pricing improvement efforts by identifying and communicating opportunities.

  • Gain and maintain deep knowledge of products, suppliers, and internal systems to support customers and drive sales.

  • Perform receiving, inventory cycle counts, and shipping functions: verify deliveries, stock materials, pull and package orders, and maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Safely operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts; occasional use of basic hand and power tools.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, observing all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Assist with the physical loading, unloading, and securing of outgoing freight as needed.

 
Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service, inside sales, mechanical, or maintenance experience (industrial distribution or parts counter preferred).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with warehouse systems, product tracking, or shipping/receiving.

  • Comfortable using PCs and learning new software applications.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Basic math skills; ability to read, write, and follow work instructions.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lbs regularly (and up to 45 lbs occasionally).

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (MVR).
