Position Summary:
Kelly Services has partnered with a leading company in the manufacturing industry to recruit a Japanese/English Interpreter to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the President and Advisors. This position is responsible for facilitating communication between English and Japanese-speaking individuals by interpreting conversations, as well as translating documents. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a Japanese version of minutes of operational and business conference held in English.

  • Coordinate activities between President and managers or other supervisory personnel.

  • Translate legal and financial correspondence, and production/manufacturing business documents from English to Japanese or vise versa.

  • Make travel arrangements.

  • Interpret conversations/meetings and translate documents. (Legal, financial, manufacturing, medical, administrative, school, and domestic items).

  • Language assistance: interpret and translate conversations and documents relating to business and some domestic issues (letters and memos from schools, banks, licensing office, etc.)

  • Arrange house/apartment, utilities, automobile and house insurance for a new Advisor.

  • Assist school registration and meeting with teachers during normal working time.

  • Accompany Advisors to medical institutions and provide interpret conversations.

  • Prepare company HR and legal documents (SS and IRS ITIN number application, etc.) and accompany to the places for personal appearance.

  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Training (minimum required):

  • At least 3 years of bilingual executive secretarial work experience in the manufacturing industry.

  • Four-year college degree is highly favorable.

  • Quality product of translation (both oral and in writing) in a clear understanding of the subjects of the conversation or document beside language skills.

  • Ability to produce work products in a timely manner to meet the requester’s needs and satisfaction: oral summary, written summary, word-for-word translations, and verbatim oral translation.
