CNC Machinist – Northborough, MA
Pay: $30–$35/hour + shift differential
Shifts Available:

  • 1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

  • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for independently setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, ensuring precision, efficiency, and high-quality output. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and experienced in troubleshooting machining processes while maintaining strict quality standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up and operate CNC milling and turning equipment with minimal supervision

  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to produce precision components

  • Install fixtures, align materials, and load tooling while setting offsets and verifying tool paths

  • Perform first article inspections and make adjustments to meet tight tolerances

  • Troubleshoot machining and setup issues related to tooling, programming, or equipment performance

  • Collaborate with programmers and operators to improve setup efficiency and product quality

  • Maintain accurate documentation for tooling, setups, and part specifications

  • Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical inspection equipment

  • Modify basic G-code elements (feeds, speeds, offsets) as needed

  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience (mills and lathes)

  • 3+ years of setup experience on multi-axis equipment (including live tooling or grinding)

  • Experience working in high-mix, low-volume production environments

  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Proven troubleshooting skills with minimal supervision

  • Proficiency with inspection tools and quality verification processes

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and reliability
