Job Title: Senior Crown Royalty Analyst (Royalty Accounting – EOR)

Job Overview
The Senior Crown Royalty Analyst supports royalty accounting operations within the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate royalty calculations, cost analysis, reporting, and administration of EOR royalty projects within the OSR Crown Royalty group.
Reporting to the Team Lead, OSR Crown Royalties, this position works closely with finance, operations, audit, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with Crown royalty policies and accurate financial reporting. The role also contributes to process improvements, supports audits, and provides valuable insights to enhance business performance through strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Generate and submit annual Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) filings to the Saskatchewan Government
• Interpret financial results and perform variance analysis for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting periods
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to calculate annual EOR rates for forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning
• Record financial true-up accruals and maintain accurate reporting in SAP
• Support audit processes, including Saskatchewan Crown audits
• Coordinate with royalty, capital, and operations accounting teams to ensure accurate expense reporting
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent experience in accounting or finance
• Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is an asset
• Minimum 9 years of oil and gas accounting experience
• Strong understanding of oil and gas accounting, including operating, capital, and production accounting
• Working knowledge of SAGD operations and Saskatchewan EOR royalty regulations
Must-Have Skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
• Experience with Group Reporting, Power BI, Spotfire, and BW
• Strong financial reporting skills (A/P, A/R, revenue, royalties, accruals, variance analysis)
