Job Title: Operations Support Technician (Quality Control Inspector)
Location: Columbia, MO
Schedule: Temporary, Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (Overtime as needed)
Duration: 4 to 6 months, with the possibility of extension
Position Overview
A leading agroscience company is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Support Technician (Quality Control Inspector) for a temporary, full-time opportunity in Columbia, MO. This essential role supports laboratory operations by tracking, receiving, and managing test materials, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining precise records and documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming test materials, create IDs, log entries, and store materials upon receipt
- Use specialized software applications to track the receipt, storage, use, expiration, disposal, return, and/or archiving of materials
- Transfer materials between departments and coordinate check-in/check-out processes for study personnel
- Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation throughout the lifecycle of materials
- Archive, return, or dispose of test materials upon completion of studies in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements
- Ensure strict adherence to current SOPs, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP), and relevant USDA, DOT, EPA, MDNR, OSHA, FDA, and company regulations for regulated/quarantined materials
- Perform routine calibration of balances and other lab equipment
- Assist with unloading trucks and storing materials appropriately
- Operate equipment for routine homogenization of radioactive and non-radioactive matrices, using devices such as hammermills, Robot Coupes, miter saws, and Straub Grinding Mills, as assigned
- May perform total radioactive residue analyses and assist with dilution equipment and preparation, depending on assignment
- Handle regulated materials, such as quarantined matrices, DEA-controlled substances, radiolabeled materials, potential biohazards, and toxic chemicals following company protocols
Basic Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College lab coursework or familiarity with a laboratory environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines
- Computer literacy and experience using inventory management or lab software preferred
- Ability to perform manual labor, including unloading and moving materials
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work full-time hours and overtime as needed
