Position Summary:
As a Mid-Level CMM Programmer/Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring that our precision-manufactured components, subassemblies, and purchased parts meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Working alongside production and assembly teams, you’ll provide essential inspection data, drive corrective improvements, and help maintain our reputation for quality and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and manual inspection tools
- Create, modify, and optimize CMM programs using 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings in PC-DMIS
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to verify part conformance
- Inspect subassemblies and assist with machine geometry verification
- Generate and maintain thorough inspection reports; communicate non-conformances to production and engineering teams
- Mark parts for required finish operations per manufacturing routing
- Conduct routine CMM accuracy verification and basic maintenance per calibration schedules
- Support root cause investigations related to dimensional non-conformances
- Keep inspection documentation and records neat, accurate, and well-organized
- Perform other quality-related tasks as needed
Qualifications & Experience:
- 2–5 years of hands-on CMM programming and operation experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency using PC-DMIS is required
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Experience inspecting precision machined components
- Familiarity with machine geometry inspection is preferred
- Basic understanding of calibration practices and metrology standards
- US Citizenship is required
