What’s a typical day as a Credit & Collections Associate? You’ll be:

  • Handling incoming and outgoing collections calls with customers, agencies, and partners

  • Processing bankruptcy and probate claims, including filing and follow-ups

  • Researching and updating customer accounts (CIS) with balances, payment status, and agreements

  • Communicating with community assistance agencies and supporting Energy Assistance Center (EAC) inquiries

  • Setting up payment arrangements and assisting customers with resolving past-due balances

  • Preparing and processing collection-related documentation and correspondence

  • Coordinating with collection agencies, including account transfers, disputes, and updates

  • Applying payments and maintaining accurate account records and notes

  • Supporting small claims processes and legal-related documentation as needed

  • Maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring compliance and confidentiality

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

  • Associate Degree (preferred)

  • At least 2 years of related experience in collections, customer service, or account management

  • Basic knowledge of collections processes and customer account systems (CIS)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email) and general computer systems

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Basic math skills and problem-solving ability

  • Location: Centerville, IA 52544

  • Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility required)

  • Employment Type: 7-month contract
