Employment Type: 9 month-contract

What’s a typical day as a Bids Specialist?
You will:

  • Prepare and coordinate bids, quotes, proposals, and sales plan/GPO analysis as needed.

  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and team members to create and maintain accurate bids and quotes.

  • Perform product matches based on customer usage reports.

  • Assist in calculating and totaling bid proposals for prospective clients.

  • Contact prospective clients to verify specifications or purchase requests and follow up on bid awards.

  • Conduct price/cost savings analysis utilizing lower-cost alternative products and/or contract costs.

  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

  • Typically 4 or more years of related experience.

  • High School education, vocational training or on-the-job training required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic business math.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Customer service orientation with the ability to resolve complex issues.

  • Effective planning and activity arrangement skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to maintain confidential and highly sensitive information.

  • Teamwork, multi-tasking, and conflict management skills.

  • Capacity to work under pressure, use analytical thinking, oversee small projects, and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to establish productive working relationships at multiple levels within the organization.

  • Travel is minimal (less than 10%).

  • Office environment; no special physical demands required.
