Job details

Job Title: Material Handler 

Location: Rockford IL 61103 United States

Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm – Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: USD 20/hr 

Contract: 2 1/2 months 

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
• Ability to read and use warehouse computer software
• Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs throughout the shift
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Responsibilities:
• Move incoming and outgoing products throughout the facility
• Follow all workplace safety and product quality policies and guidelines
• Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine materials to be moved
• Transport materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated locations
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to size, type, style, color, or product code
• Fill requisitions, work orders, and requests for materials and distribute items to production areas
• Assemble customer orders and place them on pallets
• Mark materials with identifying information and open bales, crates, and other containers
• Record amounts of materials received or distributed and enter records into the computer system
• Weigh or count items to ensure conformance to company standards
• Load and unload trailers with palletized and non-palletized products
• Operate manual and automated material handling equipment
• Follow safety, housekeeping, and hygiene procedures at all times
