Job Title: Sales & Use Tax Analyst
Location: Fully Remote allowed (Eastern Time Zone Required)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET
Pay Rate: USD 42 to 45/ hr
Contract: 6 Months
Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of experience in tax compliance or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business or Accounting
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions
• Ability to research and interpret tax laws and regulations
• Experience with sales tax audits and reconciliation of tax accounts is a plus
• Experience with Vertex tax software is a plus
Responsibilities:
• Prepare transaction tax returns for monthly, quarterly, and annual filings
• Collect and organize accounting and tax data to ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Research applicable tax laws and regulations and maintain up-to-date tax information
• Support sales tax audits by preparing documentation and resolving discrepancies
• Reconcile tax accounts and ensure proper reporting
• Use Vertex software to assist with tax calculations and filings
• Maintain accurate records of tax filings and audit documentation
• Provide data gathering support for monthly compliance tasks
• Assist with indirect tax projects
