Job details

Job Title: Material Handler

Location: Holland, Michigan 49424

Work Schedule: 1st | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM - Monday to Friday 

Pay Rate: USD 25 – 27/hr 

Contract: 5 1/2 months 

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
• Ability to read information through warehouse computer software
• Relevant warehouse or material handling experience preferred
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs throughout the shift
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Responsibilities:
• Maintain incoming and outgoing product movement throughout the facility
• Follow all workplace safety and product quality policies and guidelines
• Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine materials to be moved
• Move materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated locations
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to size, type, style, color, or product code
• Fill requisitions, work orders, and requests for materials and distribute items to production areas
• Assemble customer orders and place them on pallets
• Mark materials with identifying information and open bales, crates, and other containers
• Record, weigh, and count materials to ensure accuracy and conformance to company standards
• Enter records into the computer system
• Operate material handling equipment to move stored items
• Load and unload trailers with palletized and non-palletized products
• Follow all safety, housekeeping, and hygiene procedures
