Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation:
$30 – $34 per hour
Shift:
1st shift – Hours 6:00am-2:30pm including weekends as required

What’s a typical day as a Layout Inspector? You’ll be:
- Performing layout inspection of prototype and production transmission and axle components using electronic, mechanical, and optical inspection equipment.
- Utilizing strong math and blueprint reading skills to complete daily assignments and ensure product quality.
- Providing organized and professional inspection data to engineering teams.
- Developing fixtures and inspection methods to optimize time and improve accuracy.
- Inspecting powertrain components with dedicated electronic and manual gages, following product control plans.
- Standing and lifting for up to 8 hours while performing inspection duties.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have 5+ years of experience in layout inspection, preferably in an automotive environment.
- Are trained in GD&T, trigonometry, and algebra, with strong blueprint reading skills.
- Are familiar with basic inspection equipment such as height gages, thread gages, surface finish equipment, calipers, micrometers, dial gages, optical comparators, shadow graphs, gage blocks, and point mics.
- Have an Associate Degree in Inspection Labor Services and an ASQ Certification.
- Are experienced using MS Office and web applications.
- Possess strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Are able to work various shifts, including weekends as required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with CMM, Zeiss, and Calypso software.
- Automotive industry experience, especially with engine and transmission components.
- Familiarity with .010mm tolerances and the development of inspection fixtures and methods.
