Job details
Kelly Government Solutions is seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing production processes, ensuring compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety regulations, optimizing operational efficiency, and leading a high-performing team.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in pharmaceutical manufacturing, proven leadership capabilities, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Provide leadership to achieve production targets, quality standards, and operational excellence
- Partner with senior leadership on long-term planning, growth, and continuous improvement initiatives
Operational Management
- Oversee all manufacturing and production activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
- Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements, and company policies
- Optimize workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety and quality
Quality Assurance
- Partner with Quality Assurance to resolve issues and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Promote a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop managers, supervisors, and production staff
- Provide training and professional development opportunities
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance work environment
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the manufacturing budget
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving strategies
- Partner with Finance and Supply Chain on cost analysis, variances, and scheduling
- Support CAPEX planning, strategy, and ROI analysis
- Report on operational and financial performance to senior leadership
Continuous Improvement
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and operational excellence
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Monitor KPIs and implement strategies to exceed performance targets
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
- At least 3 years in a leadership or management role
- Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and pharmaceutical production processes
- Demonstrated leadership, team development, and performance management skills
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
- Proficiency with production management systems and tools
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required
- Advanced degree preferred
