Job Title: Warehouse and Logistics Technologist

Overview:
The Warehouse and Logistics Technologist is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, managing inventory, and coordinating the movement of raw materials (primarily polymers) for testing and evaluation on plastics fabrication equipment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory of polymers and additives; monitor material locations and usage patterns across warehouses to ensure availability.

  • Create and maintain roll inventory for films produced at pack studios.

  • Assist with planning, ordering, and movement of raw materials to enable testing and evaluation.

  • Operate fork lift/tow motor to facilitate material handling.

  • Prepare and ship samples to internal Dow labs and customers.

  • Lift and move 25kg bags of resin as needed; handle physically demanding tasks such as scaling stairs and working in external warehouses.

  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook and Excel for daily communications and inventory management; participate in investigations of new inventory management software/hardware.

  • Establish and maintain designated work areas; ensure orderly, clean, and safe conditions at all times.

  • Ensure proper working condition of work areas, vehicles, fork trucks, and equipment; arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.

  • Coordinate and monitor timely, accurate shipping and receiving of all resins and fabricated articles.

  • Recommend improved methods or records to enhance quality and efficiency.

  • Arrange regular removal and recycling of production boxes, plastics, paper, etc.

  • Complete all departmental safety training and tasks; participate in regular safety and housekeeping routines to maintain a customer-ready work environment.

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

  • Fork lift/tow motor operation experience is mandatory.

  • Ability to lift and move 25kg bags of resin.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel; openness to learning new warehouse management systems.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean work environment.
