Job details
Job Title: Shipping Specialist
Work Schedule:
- Onsite, 5 days a week
Job Responsibilities
- Inspect and package R&D samples, including hazardous and temperature-sensitive materials, in compliance with all applicable regulations
- Prepare and process both international and domestic shipments, including accurate completion of required documentation and proper packaging
- Receive and inspect incoming samples, packaging components, and office supplies delivered to the shipping hub
- Manage inventory of packaging materials; place orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels
- Monitor and track all samples received at the Sample Shipping Hub, immediately reporting any discrepancies or issues
- Safely operate a variety of material handling equipment
- Perform daily shipment tracking, tracing, and status updates
- Collaborate with and provide operational support to the Business Shipping and Campus Receiving departments as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- 0–2 years’ experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, or related field
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and take initiative
- Proficient with computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience or familiarity with warehouse/inventory management systems is preferred
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Knowledge of handling hazardous materials and temperature-sensitive items (preferred, but not required)
