Join a respected university department as a Department Assistant, supporting the Chair and team in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In this key administrative role, you’ll manage daily operations, support faculty and staff, and serve as the central point of contact for the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain departmental schedules, distribute meeting materials, and assist with event planning.
- Prepare, proofread, and edit documentation, reports, correspondence, and academic materials for faculty and staff.
- Maintain confidential patient and personnel files in compliance with HIPAA and university policies.
- Communicate with insurance companies to verify coverage and process pre-authorizations.
- Handle payment requests, purchase orders, and reimbursement processing.
- Coordinate departmental credentialing and licensure tracking for faculty and residents.
- Serve as liaison between the department, university administration, external partners, and insurance companies.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, patients, and staff, acting as a resource for daily operations and departmental questions.
Requirements:
- Prior administrative experience is a MUST
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Google Docs
- Ability to manage confidential information
