- Location: Hybrid (In-person in Phoenix, AZ, every Thursday; remote all other days. Candidates must provide their own computer for remote work.)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Employment Type: Contract (5-6 months)
What’s a typical day as a Procurement Specialist? You will:
- Coordinate and assist the Department in procuring goods/services, leveraging both state and agency-specific contracts.
- Write, solicit, evaluate, and recommend awards for department solicitations, coordinating needs with end-users and developing complex technical specifications.
- Create, distribute, and advertise solicitation documents; respond to questions, conduct informational meetings, and facilitate public solicitation openings.
- Lead evaluation committee meetings; assess offers including clarifications, presentations, and Best & Final Offers; recommend contracts for award and secure documentation.
- Provide purchasing expertise, including obtaining quotes, reviewing purchase requests, clarifying requirements, developing specifications, tracking orders, and ensuring proper receipt of goods/services.
- Research, analyze, and compare products and services for quality, availability, and price; make recommendations and purchases within delegated authority.
- Administer contracts: manage extensions, authorize price changes, process amendments, facilitate meetings, resolve conflicts, and conduct file reviews.
- Train and assist end-users in purchasing procedures, using the department’s computer-based systems and existing contracts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for procurement procedures, the Arizona Procurement Code, department and statewide contracts, and commodities assigned.
- Update and monitor contract databases, verify compliance, and identify/resolve potential problems or conflicts. Notify vendors of errors, write deficiency reports, and manage amendments.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to the position.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a procurement role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Google Suite
