Technical Writer
Plano, TX
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST (onsite)
Pay rate: $55/hr W2

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support documentation updates and new manual development for complex hardware/software products. This role requires close collaboration with engineering and product teams to ensure accurate, user-friendly, and well-structured technical documentation.

Responsibilities:
Manual Updates

  • Capture and integrate updated software and hardware screenshots into existing documentation

  • Revise and enhance technical content based on input from engineering teams

  • Maintain consistency with established formatting, branding, and documentation standards

New Manual Development

  • Develop a new product manual by leveraging and adapting existing legacy documentation

  • Identify and update sections where features and functionality differ from previous versions

  • Ensure accuracy in cross-references, shared features, and product-specific details

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Adobe InDesign Expertise (Required):
    Advanced proficiency in managing complex layouts, master pages, and style sheets

  • Technical Writing:
    Proven ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Experience working with engineers and subject matter experts to gather and validate technical requirements

  • Attention to Detail:
    Strong focus on document accuracy, version control, and consistency across multiple product lines
