Job details

We are looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant to support our client’s Legal Department! This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured environment, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in keeping information organized and accurate. You will play a key role in supporting attorneys and paralegals while helping ensure legal documents and processes move smoothly across the organization.
 
Temporary Contract: 6 months with possible extension
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Typical work hours are 7am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm
Work from home on Fridays once training is complete and trust is established
Pay Rate: $20.15 per hour
 
What you’ll be responsible for
• Providing administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, with a strong focus on reviewing and editing contracts
• Managing digital intake procedures for contracts
• Preparing routine documents, including formatting, editing, and proofreading
• Maintaining legal files in digital systems and supporting document organization and recordkeeping
• Drafting, filing, and tracking legal correspondence and documentation
• Communicating daily with representatives across business units, plants, and subsidiaries through written and verbal interactions
 
What we’re looking for
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent grammar and spelling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• High school diploma plus at least two years of experience in an office setting
 
Preferred qualifications
• Two years of experience in a legal department or law firm
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat, including editing PDF documents
• Associate degree or higher
• Familiarity with legal terminology, concepts, or procedures
