Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate auto swaging and winding department equipment for products such as VICRYL® and VICRYL PLUS®.
- Inspect products to verify proper assembly; remove defective items.
- Compile records and reports on quality inspection and production data.
- Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and basic repairs on equipment; schedule advanced maintenance as directed.
- Prepare, update, and maintain accurate documentation for quality checks, work-in-progress, test results, and special projects.
- Assist with Operator Deep Cleaning activities for CME and ASW on daily, weekly, and monthly bases.
- Report and document unresolved production problems to management.
- Comply with all environmental, safety, and occupational health standards (ISO14001 & OSHAS18001).
- Maintain production efficiency, machine utilization, and minimal departmental downtime by ensuring maximum Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE: Performance, Quality, Availability).
- Report department operations performance (daily, weekly, monthly) through the DTT report.
- Promote and adhere to environmental policies, regulatory compliance, and company procedures.
- Participate in process improvement and waste reduction initiatives for ASW.
- Train and ensure compliance of subordinates (if applicable) with health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Read, interpret, and follow work instructions and training materials.
- Support mechanical/electrical maintenance—make machine adjustments via computer systems based on operational data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Relevant experience or training in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Completion of required Safety and Environmental Training.
- Successful completion of ComplianceWire assignments.
- Completion of Operator Certification (OPCERT) for product quality inspection and disposition.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Certifications
- Strong mechanical/technical aptitude.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills; self-starter with creativity, assertiveness, and leadership capability.
- High attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adjust to changes and accept additional responsibilities/training as required.
- Experience with 6S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) and continuous improvement.
- Ability to assess and input data into shop floor computer management systems for production and maintenance.
- Strong recordkeeping skills, including experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and operational data charting/interpreting.
- Must pass and maintain training and certification examinations as required.
- Proven ability to make process improvements in areas related to Availability, Performance, and Quality.
