This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds—collaborate in person at our Raleigh office at least two days per week and enjoy the flexibility of remote work the rest of the time. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your expertise directly impacts project success, this is your chance to make a powerful difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret engineering plans with accuracy.

  • Perform and document detailed quantity takeoffs for civil works, building construction, high and low voltage electrical and mechanical installation.

  • Estimate construction costs from engineering drawings and specs.

  • Provide budget estimates for electrical substations.

  • Use estimates to support construction scheduling.

  • Evaluate subcontractor pricing and change requests.

  • Maintain and contribute to the client construction cost database.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
TOP MUST HAVES:

  •  Strong hands-on experience with ProEst estimating software

  •  Experience estimating across civil, underground, buildings, and installation scopes

  •  Ability to estimate with limited engineering inputs, particularly during early project phases
Software & Tools

  • • Autodesk ecosystem:

  • BuildingConnected

  • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)

  • The hiring manager emphasized that ProEst experience is non-negotiable, as prior candidates were screened out due to lack of true estimating experience despite resume claims.
Nice-to-Have / Flexible Criteria

  • Commercial or industrial construction estimating experience may be considered

  • Substation experience is highly preferred, but not required for the right candidate

  • Exposure to U.S. and Canadian project environments is a plus
Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction cost estimating, preferably in electrical substations.

  • Education related to quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field is preferred. Or a combination of education and experience.

  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Prost or ProEst.

  • Strong understanding of industry labour, equipment, and material cost standards.

  • Experience assessing subcontractor bids and change orders.

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

  • Candidates must already have work authorisation that would permit them to work for client in the United States.
What happens next:
Once you apply, you’ll proceed to next steps if your skills and experience look like a good fit. But don’t worry-even if this position doesn’t work
out, you’re still in our network. That means all of our recruiters will have access to your profile, expanding your opportunities even more.
