Duration: 6 months (possibility to extend)
Schedule: Onsite with on-call responsibilities
Location: Boulder, CO
Reporting: Onsite with required on-call rotation
Pay Rate: $35.30/hr


Position Summary
Join our Boulder campus as a Facilities Specialist IV and take on a hands-on role in day-to-day operation, troubleshooting, repair, and upkeep of building systems and laboratory infrastructure. You’ll perform routine, corrective, and preventive maintenance while directly supporting laboratory operations, responding to urgencies, and maintaining compliance and safety across our facility.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Hands-On Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Perform daily maintenance across various buildings (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, basic HVAC).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve facility system issues and alarms.

  • Utilize basic and power tools, ladders, and diagnostic equipment for routine and corrective maintenance.

  • Conduct regular building walks, identify and repair deficiencies, and ensure follow-up completion.

  • Monitor and respond to Building Automation/Management Systems (BAS/BMS) and alarms, including off-hours emergencies.

  • Engage in emergency response for building system failures or interruptions.

  • Support lab equipment maintenance (e.g., oil levels, visual checks, minor adjustments).

  • Carry out general cleanup and support for facility and laboratory activities.

Vendor Support:

  • Support and coordinate vendor activities after preliminary troubleshooting.

  • Escort contractors, assist facility managers during inspections/repairs, and ensure site standards are met.

  • Oversee scheduling and execution of contracted work, maintaining safety and site standards.

  • Act as primary site contact for vendors when specialized repairs are required.
