Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $21/hr

What’s a typical day as a Cold Wind Operator? You’ll be:

  • Operating machinery to wind, splice, cut, and package a variety of coil cutting stock to specified or random lengths.

  • Using hand or hydraulic trucks to transport coil material from storage to your work area.

  • Inspecting materials for defects, straightness, and quality before and during processing.

  • Activating and monitoring equipment for proper operation, measuring finished product, and cutting material as required.

  • Completing production records, marking containers with identification information, and maintaining accurate documentation.

  • Operating electric welding equipment to splice coils, including adjusting settings, performing annealing, and grinding/file finishing welds.

  • Cleaning and maintaining welding equipment, replacing guides, and following all safety procedures.

  • Reporting any defective equipment, materials, or unusual situations to your supervisor.

  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent (required).

  • Possess 1-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred).

  • Are comfortable using charts, specifications, and micrometers.

  • Have basic math skills, including working with decimals.

  • Can thrive in a demanding, fast-paced position with shifting priorities.

  • Are committed to following all safety rules and practices.
