What’s a typical day as Temper Rewind? You’ll be:
- Operating horizontal electric controlled atmosphere furnaces, dry heat tempering furnaces, and rewinding equipment to harden, temper, and reverse wind coils of bi-metal band saw coil material
- Checking all coil ID tags for correct specifications and ensuring completion of previous operations
- Setting feed rates, monitoring speeds, and securing hardened coils for processing
- Transporting full racks to tempering areas and loading furnaces using an overhead hoist
- Operating rewind machines to reverse wind coils and handling finished coils for further processing
- Recording findings, maintaining production and maintenance records, and ensuring equipment is clean and orderly
- Reporting equipment or material defects and unusual situations to the supervisor
- Observing all safety rules and performing related duties as assigned
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers (must have)
- Have 1-2 years of related experience (preferred)
- Are comfortable with numbers, including decimals
- Can perform light physical tasks, including lifting, pushing, or pulling 5 to 25 pounds
- Thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment with competing priorities
