Position Type: Direct Hire (Permanent) – Full Time
Pay: $43.56/hour
Schedule:
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our team in Milford, CT. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs (Allen Bradley preferred)
- Assemble and wire control panels in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and engineering specifications
- Utilize testing equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, and (preferred) oscilloscopes for troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Diagnose and repair sensors and components, including photoelectric, proximity, hall effect, reed switches, actuators, and mechanical switches
- Troubleshoot and determine proper output types (sinking vs. sourcing)
- Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate technical information
- Operate power tools and perform soldering as needed
- Work with PC-based systems, including DOS and Windows; understand serial, Ethernet, and LAN communications
- Work at heights up to 40 feet when required
- Operate forklifts, man lifts, cherry pickers, and other industrial equipment
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned based on business needs
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Graduate of an Electrical Technical School or equivalent trade/military training
- Minimum of five (5) years of electrical trade experience
- Current State of Connecticut E2 License (or higher) required
Technical Requirements
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution and lighting circuits (DC up to 500V, AC up to 480V)
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), including wire sizing, fusing, safety practices, Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, emergency stop circuits, and grounding
- Experience with relay control circuits, including AC/DC systems (servo experience preferred but not required)
- Knowledge of ladder logic and latching circuits with troubleshooting capability
