Kelly® is seeking a Procurement Contracts Lead to serve as a Site Commercial Specialist (SCS). This role is NOT a Buyer position but will be working closely with strategic buyers and procurement teams to maximize corporate value and optimize procurement activities. The SCS provides critical insight, supports site business processes, and acts as a commercial advocate.
Location: Corpus Christi, TX (Primarily Onsite; supports Beaumont, Mt Belview, Baton Rouge)
Schedule: M-F, 8am to 4pm
Pay Rate: $63.91/hr. to $82.44/hr. (Level II – Level III
Contract Duration: One year, likely annual renewal
Travel: 10-25% (to related sites)
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with site leaders to identify commercial strategies and extract incremental value
- Serve as a commercial leader, visible in key planning/execution meetings
- Conduct commercial activities including bids, negotiations, and settlements
- Lead quarterly updates with site leadership, semi-annual reviews with GCGV board
- Manage community partner relationships to align procurement/local business
- Train local partners on procurement best practices
- Mentor Strategic Buyers who support the plant remotely
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical RtP (Request to Pay) reliability issues
- Organize and lead staff meetings for all GCGV Procurement support team
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering—or highly qualified/experienced (plastics production experience considered in lieu of degree)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience including strong contract development, commercial relationship, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Proficient with SAP (research cost analysis to reduce payment)
- Procurement knowledge (bid evaluation, contracts language)
- Interpersonal skills for team and site partner interactions
- Proficiency in SharePoint, OneNote, Excel (bid evaluation templates), Word (bid templates)
Annual Outcomes:
- Meet annual cost reduction targets and train site partners in procurement fundamentals
- Quarterly stewardship of value delivery for assigned sites
- Emergency procurement support for site reliability (after-hours empowered decision-making)
