Payroll and Purchasing Coordinator (Part-Time) — Oil & Gas Client
Location: Onsite in Spring, TX
Schedule: Part-time, 24 hours/week (three days a week — your choice!)
Pay: $47.00/hr
Assignment: 6-month contract


About the Role:
Kelly® is seeking an experienced Payroll and Purchasing Coordinator to join our team onsite at a leading oil & gas client in Spring, TX. This role is ideal for a senior-level professional with robust purchasing, payroll, and process improvement experience.


Main Functions:

  • Lead spot purchasing of equipment, materials, chemicals/catalysts, and services across multiple business lines.

  • Mentor and provide training to junior buyers as a senior member of the team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Process daily requisition queues and convert to purchase orders.

  • Collect written proposals from vendors.

  • Conduct straightforward negotiations on pricing and terms & conditions.

  • Address invoice discrepancies, approve payments for additional freight costs, and ensure PO integrity.

  • Liaise with strategic buyers for projects and bundled purchases.

  • Support timely invoice payments and maintain purchase orders (e.g., updates, delivery dates).

  • Work closely with managers to validate vendor timesheets and invoices for approval.

  • Drive process improvements.

Role Breakdown:

  • 70% Payroll

  • 30% Invoicing

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years payroll and invoicing experience

  • Advanced skills in SAP, Outlook, and SharePoint

  • Strong interpersonal communication (able to work with global managers & engineers)

  • Experience implementing process improvements (preferred)

Behavioral & Functional Skills:

  • Adaptable, analytical, collaborative, and customer-focused

  • Procure-to-Pay knowledge, system efficiency

  • Strong controls mindset

  • Expertise in contract development/management, negotiation, and vendor relations
