Diagnostics Hematology Specialist – North Central
Location: Iowa or Minnesota (Des Moines ? Minneapolis corridor)
Territory: Iowa & Minnesota
Travel: ~60% (mostly regional)
Work Style: Field-based (3 days in field, 1–2 days home office)
About the Role
We’re looking for a relationship-focused sales professional to grow diagnostic testing adoption within hematology and oncology practices across the North Central region. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, opening doors, and building trust with physicians in complex clinical settings.
You’ll work closely with internal partners and Key Account Managers to expand existing accounts and develop new opportunities—especially in large oncology and hematology practices.
What You’ll Do
- Build and grow relationships with hematologists, oncologists, APPs, and clinic staff
- Drive new business while expanding utilization in existing accounts
- Educate clinicians on how advanced diagnostics (PCR, NGS, MRD) support better treatment decisions
- Navigate large institutions and oncology groups to establish a strong, trusted presence
- Collaborate with internal teams to execute territory and account plans
- Spend most of your time in the field meeting customers; use home-office time for planning, outreach, and follow-ups
- Track activity and manage your territory using CRM tools
What Success Looks Like
First 6 months
- Complete training and ramp up on products, science, and processes
- Establish relationships and visibility in key clinics
6–12 months
- Increase account penetration and test utilization
- Open new opportunities through networking and outreach
- Be seen as a trusted partner by physicians and clinics
What We’re Looking For
- 1–5 years of sales experience (diagnostics, pharma, biotech, lab services, or medical devices)
- Experience calling on hematology/oncology practices strongly preferred
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable with a hunter-style, business development role
- Interest or background in molecular diagnostics, PCR, NGS, or genomics (big plus, not required)
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in the field
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: Up to $200,000 (based on experience)
