Job Title: Roofing System Laboratory Technician
Location: Granville, OH- ONSITE
Duration: 2 years with possible extensions
Pay: $25.00/HR
Shift: Monday to Friday 7am-3pm
Job Description:
The contract technician position supports our clients residential roofing business by working efficiently to complete product testing for innovative solutions and improved product quality. This role is important to the success of the Roofing Systems Lab and requires hands-on work with material, tools, equipment, and computer systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrates a commitment to safety
· Works safely in both laboratory and storage settings
· Identifies and corrects hazards as appropriate
· Ensures rigorous compliance with all standard safety procedures and OC corporate policies
· Practices good housekeeping habits
2. Conducts routine testing on residential roofing products (Shingles, Underlayments)
· Prepares samples for testing
· Performs standardized tests as directed in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
· Records test results into LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) data system or equivalent
· Updates all required databases daily
· Documents observations clearly and accurately
· Cleans and maintains equipment and the workspace
· Collaborate with engineers, scientists and team members
Metrics
· Actively contributes to “Near Miss” tracking system and documents hazard eliminations
· Full participation in site safety initiatives
· Performs non-routine task hazard assessments
· Safely and consistently completes operational tasks in the Roofing Systems Lab
· Test deliverables meet Quality Requirements and Standards
Experience and Knowledge Requirements
· Associate’s degree is preferred
· Hands-on aptitude with mechanical equipment
· Must be comfortable using a computer. A working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
· Experience in a manufacturing and/or laboratory environment
· Attention to details is very important
