Job Title: Production Packer  
Location: Jackson, MICHIGAN 49203  
Work Schedule: Mon – Sun (2-2-3 Shift Pattern. Will work every other weekend.) from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am    
Pay rate: USD 17.00 per hour
Contract: 6-month duration (temp to hire) 

Qualifications:

This position requires that the position be able to move heavy objects safely, not to exceed 60 pounds, without requiring assistance such as a dolly, forklift, or team member assistance. There are also frequent and prolonged periods of standing/walking and pushing /pulling or moving/lifting supplies and extensive use of a hacksaw. This position experiences frequent/occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, repetitive motion and gripping and pulling down skid straps. 
This position is located within a vinyl siding manufacturing facility and requires the position can work in an environment that can be noisy and dusty. The ability to work 8 - 12 hour+ shifts, withstand heat and chemical odors is also required. 
Must comply with all safety requirements including use of the personal protection equipment required for this position.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Production Shift Leader, the position is accountable for Safety, Quality, Houskeeping and packing finished siding and accessory products at the Jackson Plant.
• Ensure the safety, quality, housekeeping, for the assigned areas as directed by the Production Shift Leader
• Assist operator with line set-up, including stringing the line
• Cut packing straps to length for boxes
• Assemble and glue boxes
• Visually inspect each siding panel for color or other visual defects
• Inform operator or Area Lead of any visual defects or problems before scrapping product
• Monitor hot glue levels, restock as needed
• Label and number packing boxes
• Load siding boxes onto skid
• Strap skids to prepare for removal to warehouse
• Perform line housekeeping duties
• Train other packers as needed
• Perform other management assigned tasks
