Die Setter – Direct Hire

Job Summary:

Join our dynamic team as a Die Setter in the Press department, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient process of die setting. This position is perfect for someone with 3 to 5 years of die/stamping experience who is ready to lead changeovers throughout our busy Pressroom. Job Specifications:

– Job Type: Full-Time
– Metal Stamping Industry
– Location: Walker, MI
– Pay Rate: $25.00+ DOE

1 opening on 1st Shift – 5:30am-3:30pm Mon-Thurs
1 opening on 2nd Shift – 3:00pm-1:10am Mon-Thurs

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

– Lead the setting up of dies and related equipment.
– Complete entire die changeovers from last-piece to first-piece in a safe and efficient manner.
– Perform die sets, press operations, and troubleshoot stamping processes methodically.
– Change over multiple part number dies as required.
– Operate stamping press as needed, having received training as a Stamping Press Operator.
– Maintain a clean and safe work area following 5S standards.

– Adhere to work instructions and KanBan pull systems.

– Understand and implement job-related Quality Objectives and Quality System Policies.

– Ensure safety for self, teammates, and products.

– Pre-stage dies for operation and communicate die repair needs.

– Conduct accurate daily verification of measurement devices.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

– High school diploma or GED required.

– 3 to 5 years of die/stamping related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

– Experience as a Stamping Press Operator or equivalent is essential.

– Ability to read and write safety rules, production, and quality documentation.

– Proficient in basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

– Hilo and Crane license required.
