Job Title: Buyer
Location: Holland MI 49424
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: USD 27 to 29/hr
Contract: 8 months
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 1-3 years of supply chain or procurement experience
• Ability to analyze bills of materials for cost and lead time accuracy
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Experience with procurement systems and reporting
• Knowledge of sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing processes
• Supply chain coursework or certifications preferred
Responsibilities:
• Procure materials and monitor movement to meet production needs
• Maintain inventory levels based on engineering and production schedules
• Ensure material standards are met and resolve non-conformances or variances
• Monitor cost, schedule, and scope of subcontracts
• Support sourcing initiatives, including supplier qualification, RFQs, and renegotiations
• Manage Kanban programs, including setup, reporting, and daily monitoring
• Create and manage supplier VMI contracts
• Coordinate with suppliers, inspectors, and engineers to resolve quality issues
• Support cost savings and supplier improvement initiatives
• Process purchase requisitions and manage ordering activities
• Assist with ECO cost analysis, supplier notifications, and PO updates
• Maintain part setup and records in Oracle systems
• Participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen activities
• Monitor supplier performance and support scorecard reporting and audits
• Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation of receiving or accounts payable issues
• Support monthly reporting, spend analysis, and procurement activities
