Location: Kinston, NC
Schedule: Monday to Friday
1st shift 8:00am- 4:00pm $15.91/hr
2nd shift 4:00pm- 12:00am $16.21/hr
3rd shift 12:00am- 8:00am $ 16.21/hr
Job Summary:
The Packer / Labeler is responsible for packing and labeling cartons, cups, and lids into cases while ensuring all products meet established quality standards. This role supports overall production efficiency and cleanliness within the manufacturing area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pack sleeves of cartons, cups, and lids into cases, bags, or trays as required
- Inspect products for defects; promptly report any quality issues to machine operator or supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform additional duties related to production as assigned by supervision
Qualifications:
- Ability to add and subtract four-digit numbers accurately
- Basic mechanical knowledge of production machinery; able to stop machines or clear jams if needed
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to follow detailed guidelines and make decisions regarding product quality
- Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and color vision
Physical Requirements:
- Standing throughout the shift
- Light lifting up to 10 lbs. regularly; occasionally lifting or pushing up to 40 lbs.
- Repetitive movement of hands, fingers, and wrists
- May need to climb one step to access machine feeder platform
Work Environment:
- Exposure to noise levels above 85db
- Dust from paper processing present in the area
- Working near moving machinery and lift trucks in a shared workspace
- Possible exposure to chemicals such as toluene, ethyl acetate, and various alcohols
- Ambient temperature extremes, especially on hot, humid days
- Personal Protective Equipment required: steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection, eye protection, hair/beard net, bump cap, and safety vest.
