Schedule & Compensation

  • Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Pay rate: $30–$35/hour

  • Contract role with potential for temp-to-hire

  • Immediate need; interviews being scheduled ASAP

Position Summary
Fincantieri Marine Repair is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant / Job Cost Analyst to support accounting and invoicing operations within our shipyard facility. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong General Ledger experience who thrives in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • General Ledger (GL) maintenance

  • Recurring journal entries

  • Account reconciliations

Candidates with cost accounting, job costing, or international accounting exposure are highly valued, though this experience is preferred rather than required.
Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile General Ledger accounts

  • Prepare and post recurring journal entries

  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

  • Support invoicing and daily accounting operations

  • Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting

  • Track and analyze project/job costs

  • Collaborate with operations and project teams to ensure financial accuracy

  • Support audit requests and maintain organized financial documentation

  • Assist with revenue recognition and contract accounting processes as needed

Preferred Experience
The following experience is preferred, but not required:

  • Cost accounting or job costing experience

  • Revenue recognition exposure

  • IFRS or international accounting standards experience

  • Military, maritime, manufacturing, or government contracting industry exposure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

  • Candidates without a degree will be considered with 4+ years of relevant accounting experience

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills required

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

Work Environment

  • Position is located onsite in a working shipyard/boat yard environment

  • Heavy machinery and industrial operations are active throughout the facility

  • Small administrative office located within a secured worksite

  • Employees park outside the gate and walk approximately ¼ mile on a gravel pathway to the office

  • Business casual, laid-back environment
