Overview
Our client builds CNC custom machinery, provides CNC machining and retrofitting services to customers in aerospace, defense, automotive as well as other industries that need large custom parts.
As a Process Engineer, you’ll initiate, develop, and implement machining process for new parts. You’ll review engineering part designs of machine tool components to help ensure optimum cost, quality, safety, and schedule is obtained and maintained. Design machine shop tools and fixtures to assist in the manufacturability of parts and part cost reductions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop process for CNC machining parts including optimizing machining process.
- Work with supervision & mechanical engineering to correct drawing errors and suggest manufacturability improvements.
- Select proper tooling and set speeds & feeds so that required finishes & tolerances are achieved, create part setup documentation
- Use CATIA to create or modify NC programs and 3D part models
- Use Vericut to check NC programs
- Create Failure Mode and Effects Analyze documents
- Tooling design
- Tooling selection
- Quoting support
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Manufacturing, Technology, or CNC, will consider 10+ years’ relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Experience creating & modifying NC program experience including G & M code, required
- Ability to learn Siemens controls and legacy controls, required, prior experience a plus
- CAD/CAM knowledge: preferably CATIA, Solidworks, AutoCAD, required
- Strong mathematics skills; decimals, fractions, & trigonometry, required
- Blueprint reading, NC manufacturing processes, required
- Ability to interpret complex drawings, a plus
- Ability to work effectively with people, required
- Tool & fixture design experience, required
- Knowledge of manual inspection and gauging methods
- Understands machine tool capabilities, and design tooling, required
- A plus: In-depth knowledge of a variety of tooling and its usage, such as:
- Cutting tools (cutting conditions, adjustments, fixtures, etc.), a plus
- Experience selecting proper tooling and set speeds & feeds so that required finishes & tolerances are achieved, create part setup documentation

- Ability to analyze manufacturing process flow, required
- Able to assist with Process Planning
- Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software
- Able to comply with ITAR requirements by providing documentation of US Citizenship or Green Card status.
